Yeah WHATEVER!!! One can dream though right?!? Thankfully besides my ever slowing metabolism, I still feel as if I could be 21, but sadly my birth date reflects the truth… I am getting OLD. 30 was definitely harder than turning 31 though, and not as many tears flowed this year compared with last.
Last Saturday was a lovely day filled with sweet emails from friends and family, lots of love and attention from my hubby and Hannah, a much needed 10-pass to a local gym (not only for my waist line, but more importantly for my sanity), and a surprise lunch with the Gray family at T.G.I Fridays! I couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.
This past Tuesday was a continuation of the festivities as Kent invited our friends over for a
lovely dinner. The food was amazing, (thanks to the Strobels for the Yorkshire pudding – a very Scottish meal consisting of roast beef, mashed potatoes, and a bread that you douse with gravy…yummm, the Merricks for the great orange salad, and the McDowells for the divine chocolate cake -you know me SO well). What made it so sweet though was having everyone all together in our kitchen and the laughter that we shared. I was on the verge of getting all mushy and sentimental right there at the table due to the blessing those guys have been in our lives.
Thank you to those of you who did so much to make the day so great. I am eager to see what this year will hold being a 31 year old!
Happy belated birthday! I’m 30 next August and I KNOW I will gush….not happily!
Missing you! Call me when you’re up to it!
