"Dress-Up Day"

This morning we attended a Halloween playgroup party. I didn’t exactly tell Hannah that it was a Halloween party, but instead dubbed it a “dress-up party!”

How do you best explain some of our cultural “holiday” traditions like Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, and the hub-bub surrounding Halloween? While we certainly aren’t excited about the [...]

Today a horrible sound echoed in my head… the deafening, flushing sound of our money getting sucked down the toilet! The news reported this morning that the pound is at a record HIGH against the US dollar… A whopping 2.05 to 1!!!!! SO, basically our dollar is worth about 45 CENTS here!

Fall Frolic

On the way home from St. Andrews a few weekends back, we made a quick stop at a little park so Hannah could stretch her legs.

It was a cool, crisp, and sunny day which smelled of fall.

I couldn’t resist sharing these pictures.

If only we could all find wonder and amazement in the little things, and [...]

The Sound of Music

I am told that as a young girl still in diapers, I could be heard singing made up songs from my crib, long before the sun was up. Then by the time I could reach the keys of our piano, I would play little songs that I would hear my sisters practicing. Now as [...]

Ode to a stroller

We are asking for our loved ones to take a moment of silence in honor of our dear stroller who has passed on to a better (and more restful) place… Or maybe just the trash bin.
Through thousands of miles, blustery wind and driving rain; from carrying our little baby when she was first born [...]

Turning 30

Yesterday I turned 30!
I have heard from friends that 30 is the new 20. What does that really mean?!? I feel like that is just sugar-coating the truth that 30 is OLD!
Today I am no longer breathing into a paper bag, but have accepted the fact that I am no longer 22. I will [...]
